Internationally renowned ex-motorcycle racer, Simon Crafar, is proud to announce the support and formation of a new partnership with Suzuki, for his upcoming instructional DVD and book project.
Following the formation of the partnership, that sees Simon use a GSX-R1000 himself for track instruction, the Ex-500GP racer commented,“It’s fantastic to have the support of Suzuki as they have an excellent range of sports bikes that are perfectly suited for riding on circuit. I tested all the 600 sports bikes earlier this year and the new GSX-R600 came out on top. The GSX-R750 is arguably the best trackday bike on the market for the majority of riders. The GSX-R1000 is so good out of the box that I had to change nothing but the tyres in the first on-track events for it to do all I need".
Simon will use the Suzuki GSX-R range to demonstrate on-circuit riding techniques in his DVDs and book being filmed/photographed later this year. Simon will continue to use his Suzuki GSX-R1000 for instructing on circuit at various events during the year.
The DVD series and book, due for release late this year, will illustrate to track day riders ‘how the fast guys go fast’, by focusing on the biggest gains using the safest techniques. Keith Flint, front man of ‘The Prodigy’ and long time Suzuki rider will also feature. The DVD series and accompanying book will be shot, edited and produced by some of the best in the business. It will be both very informative and fun to watch.
Suzuki GB marketing manager, George Cheeseman, added, "Obviously we’re delighted to reach an agreement with someone of Simon’s caliber. Not only is he recognised as one of the world’s most talented racers, making a perfect fit with the GSX-R range, but since retirement has established a great reputation for his rider instruction too. With a very unique approach, we’re proud to be part of an initiative that helps track riders become faster and safer."
