Suzuki GB has confirmed a recall of its GSX-R125 and GSX-S125 models, for the replacement of the front engine mounting bolts.
The Japanese manufacturer – which constantly evaluates its production techniques and model performance – has identified a potential issue caused by incorrect frame painting. The coating may be worn down by heat and vibration from the engine, causing the axial tightening force on the front engine mounting bolts to reduce.
While there have been no reported cases in the UK to date [2 May], to prevent the risk of breakage of the mounting bolts from continued use, Suzuki will replace them free of charge, and also correctly prepare the frame to avoid further issues.
There are 552 customer machines that are affected.
Owners of models included in the recall will receive correspondence from the DVSA advising them to contact their local authorised Suzuki dealership to have the recall work carried out free of charge.
