Suzuki GB has announced an all-new team for the 2013 motocross season today, with highly experienced team manager and ex-British Champion Neil Prince heading up theHeads & All Threads Suzuki Team.
Bringing a wealth of experience to Suzuki, Prince, who personally claimed the 1994 125cc British Championship as a rider and no-less than eight British titles as a team manager, takes over the running of Suzuki GB’s official motocross effort next season, already orchestrating the move of Graeme Irwin in MX2 to the team, the signing of up and coming youngster Luke Burton in MX1 and MXY2 rider Jordan McClelland.
Neil Prince: "To agree terms with Suzuki GB to run their official effort in the UK is a great honour indeed. I’ve followed the progress of the Tyco Suzuki team over the last few years and been hugely impressed with the speed of the bikes and reliability, so when the chance came to talk I was very keen. We’ve already tried the all-new 2013 RM-Zs, and are very impressed. Suzuki has without a doubt given us the tools to do our job in 2013, we just need to do the rest now."
George Cheeseman, Suzuki GB marketing manager: "To have a team manager with proven credentials like Neil fills us with great confidence. In him we have a manager with multiple championship titles to his name, who has the experience to build a team that not only gives us a strong chance next season, but has eyes on the future too."
We are also very pleased to welcome a new sponsor not only to us but to top-flight motocross too. We all know how tough it is to attract sponsorship so to bring a new brand and new interest to the sport is a double bonus. We look forward to working closely with Neil and the rest of the Heads & All Threads Suzuki Team throughout 2013."
Heads & All Threads sales and marketing manager, Gary Needs: "Motocross is a hugely exciting sport and something that we as a business look forward to becoming more involved with. To enter the sport with Neil and as the title sponsor of Suzuki’s official campaign really is something special. While our managing director has a personal interest, we’re looking forward to exposing our customers and clients to it throughout 2013 too, by bringing them along to the races to cheer the team on."
The Heads & All Threads Suzuki Team begin testing next week, with their first competitive outing planned before the end of the year.
