The new, 2015 Suzuki RM-Z450 stormed to championship glory at the weekend, with Thomas Ramette taking this year’s Arenacross title with the SR75-Molson team.
Ramette, who took the win at the series opener in Manchester, never relinquished the red plate throughout the series, taking the championship at the final round at the SSE Arena in Wembley with a second place in the main event.
Over the course of the eight round series the Frenchman qualified on pole at each one and finished on the podium in six main events. He also finished in the top three in every head-to-head shootout apart from one, taking three wins.
Geoff Walker, SR75-Molson Team Manager, said, "This has been an amazing tour for us as a team. To begin 2015 with this level of success is amazing in this incredibly tough form of our sport. Throughout the series the RM-Z450has performed perfectly and through our experience, development and Thomas’ undoubted skill and talent we have not only taken the championship but amassed eightpole positions, a loadof holeshots, and all but two fastest final times throughout the series, despite Thomas suffering frominjury and a horrible virus.
“Our association with the Suzuki brand in the past couple of years has been fantastic and with Thomas joining us this year to represent the team, it is great to have the continued support of Suzuki GB."
Suzuki GB Marketing Manager, Rob Cooper, commented, "We’re delighted to get the first championship win in the bag for the new RM-Z450. Since the launch of the new bike, everyone has been well aware of its potential. It’s already won awards, Heads & All Threads Suzuki’s Graeme Irwin won the first moto he raced with the new bike last year, it filled the podium at the Hawkstone International, and now Ramette has landed the Arenacross championship against difficult competition.
"We’re very grateful to Geoff and the SR75-Molson team for the effort they have put in over the course of the series and look forward to continued success with the team and the RM-Z450."
The new RM-Z450 comes with an RRP of £6,399 and is currently available on 0% finance.
