Suzuki dealership Powerslide Motorcycles has opened a new showroom in Derby, to operate alongside its Stoke-on-Trent-based HQ.
Powerslide has developed a reputation for its racing and track day involvement and was previously recognised as the top-selling GSX-R dealership in Europe, and the expansion comes after simply outgrowing its current premises.
The new facility boasts two large showrooms and an additional 3000 square foot of used motorcycles, plus a chill out area complete with arcade games and a pool table.
Dealer principal, Brad Clarke, explained the decision to expand, saying, “We had the idea a couple of years ago but we didn’t want to run before we could walk and decided to work on establishing the Powerslide brand and building a recognised dealership. But we were basically outgrowing our showroom in Stoke and we couldn’t display the bikes how we wanted; it was getting cramped and some were outside and we didn’t feel that reflected the brand we wanted to be about.
“We believe that the new showroom will help us take our customer service to the next level. There’s plenty of space to browse new and used bikes, and dedicated relaxation areas are perfect for waiting for servicing or repairs or just a place to stop by on a rideout. We’ve also expanded our clothing ranges and will continue to provide excellent customer care through our award-winning team and ATA-accredited technicians.
“And we have our race department where customers can see what goes into the building and maintenance of our race bikes, and as part of our involvement in the British Superbike paddock we’re often visited by famous faces which can be a little bonus for customers.
“We can’t thank Suzuki GB enough for their continued support and belief: they have helped us to grow and have backed us every step of the way and we’re looking forward to repaying their faith in us.”
