Suzuki GB PLC, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation of Japan, has become aware that data of approximately 2,500 contacts has been illegally hacked from its UK Motorcycle website. This ‘attack’ took place on 2nd August 2012.
The data that has been obtained relates mainly to competition entries (“Snap up a Suzuki experience”) and contains names, addresses, e-mail details and phone numbers of competition entrants. Suzuki are contacting those affected and wishes to assure all concerned that the information that has been hacked does not extend to any sensitive personal data or financial information.
Suzuki apologises to any members of the public affected by this illegal act. Suzuki regard this as a serious matter and will be working with the relevant authorities.
