Reigning Suzuki GB Technician of the Year, Julian Cameron, has successfully secured a place in the World Skills contest in Japan later this year, after finishing inside the top-five of the European heat in Germany earlier this month.

Julian, who works for Farnborough Suzuki Dealer, Infinity Motorcycles, scooped the coveted Technician of the Year award last year, qualifying to compete with the best in Europe earlier this month.

Finishing inside the top five, with colleagues from Austria, Belgium, Finland and Germany, Julian will travel to the Suzuki factory in Hamamatsu, Japan in October to complete in the World Finals.

Speaking after his European success, Julian commented, “It was an honour to be crowned Technician of the Year, but to now qualify for the World Finals at the factory in Japan is unbelievable. I am extremely proud to be able to represent both Infinity Motorcycles and Suzuki GB”.

To qualify for his Japan trip, Julian had to sit a written test and complete five practical tasks successfully, testing his technical knowledge both in theory and practice.

Suzuki GB’s Denis Houston commented, “Congratulations to Julian. It is extremely encouraging to have a UK dealer get this far, and is a testament to both Julian’s ability and the level of expertise within the Suzuki dealer network. We wish him the best of luck at the finals in Japan”.
