Suzuki proudly accepted the British Supersport Manufacturers award yesterday, as the organisers of the championship presented it to Suzuki’s George Cheeseman at Motorcycle Live in Birmingham.
The award is the culmination of a season of hard and close racing, that saw Relentless Suzuki by TAS racer, Alastair Seeley, battle with rival Ben Wilson all season-long, clinching the rider and manufacturer titles at the very last round.
Suzuki marketing manager, George Cheeseman, commented, “Naturally we’re delighted to accept this award and especially pleased to accept it here at Motorcycle Live. I’d like to thank the TAS team and Alastair for making this possible. Their determination and huge will to win, while developing the all-new GSX-R600 along the way, is a huge credit to them. They never gave up on this title and put in 100% effort from the first to the last race. A big thank you to them and a big thank you also to the fans for their support this year too.”
The team now enter a new chapter in their long history with Suzuki, becoming the Tyco Suzuki team in 2012, with Josh Brookes already signed to contest the British Superbike Championship and further rider announcements to come soon.
