Suzuki has began the remanufacturing of old parts for its Vintage Parts Programme, starting with fork outers for the iconic RGV250 VJ22.
After consultation and focus groups with owners of the sought-after 250 two-stroke, it became apparent that one of the key components that were becoming increasingly difficult to find – with no new stock available – were the front fork outers.
As a result, Suzuki Motor Corporation has remanufactured a number of the parts to boost stock levels and help owners keep their RGV250s in showroom condition or support restoration projects of the race replica.
Suzuki GB’s Tim Davies, said, “We launched the Vintage Parts Programme to highlight the number of new components still available for some of the older and classic Suzukis that are still with owners or that are becoming restoration projects. We’ve indexed hundreds of parts and helped owners find genuine components for a range of models, but this is the next step. With the factory now remanufacturing new old parts for owners, it shows how successful and popular the Vintage Parts Programme is, the job it is doing to help owners of older models, and our commitment to it.”
